Gallery Africa specializes in clothing and accessories from all parts of Africa and linen clothing from California and Italy.
Areta Prince's first start in retail was in 1985 selling at local flea markets. She started Gallery Africa in 1988 in a kiosk at Prince George’s Plaza in Hyattsville, Maryland selling African art and Jewelry until 1994. In 1990 she opened a kiosk at the Forest Village Mall (now known as The Centre at Forestville) where she maintained a storefront there until June 2020. In 1991 she opened a store at the Beltway Plaza Mall and stayed there until 2012. She opened her final location at the Woodmore Towne Centre in 2011.
